NO TAXES FOR WAR: More than 50 antiwar tax protesters demonstrated outside the Farley Post Office Building at 33rd Street and 8th Avenue April 15 as late filers arrived to drop off their tax returns. Many of those present refused to pay the portion of their taxes that would go to military-related spending and donated the money to a charitable causes instead. According to the War Resisters League, 54 percent of all federal income tax dollars go to pay for past and present military-related expenses. For more, see warresisters.org.
